Strawberry Gasana

This ornamental and edible strawberry has double pink blooms and sweet fruit.

The Gasana strawberry (Fragaria ananassa 'Gasana') is a perennial plant that can be grown for both its ornamental and edible qualities. It produces large, bright pink flowers and long, conical-shaped fruits. The dark green foliage forms neat mounds.

The Gasana strawberry grows best in full sun and can be planted in a garden or pots and containers. It can self-pollinate, but it produces a larger crop with another plant nearby.

The Gasana strawberry can grow to a height of 10–12 inches and a spread of 24–36 inches.

The Gasana strawberry is an everbearing type of strawberry, meaning it produces fruit repeatedly throughout most of the season. The berries are usually ready to pick from late spring to mid-fall.

The Gasana strawberry can be used for both ornamental and edible purposes:
